    NY Terps Sandy Service Day

     
    Event Description - NY Terps Sandy Service Day

    Terps in the NY region join forces with the "Rebuild Staten Island" Relief Center to assist with clearing debris, knocking down sheetrock, cleaning houses, and delivering supplies in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

    Time: 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

    Location:     "Rebuild Staten Island Relief Center, 800 Naughton Ave (corner of Father Capadanno), Staten Island, NY

    Departure/Return Directions: Meet at the Staten Island Ferry in Southern Manhattan at 7:30 a.m. for unofficial check-in. Return back to Manhattan by 3:30 p.m.

    Attire: Wear something red, share that Terp pride and this way we can all identify each other (if you have it). You will be getting dirty; so do not wear clothes you care about. Also make sure to layer clothing because it will be cold.

    Please Note: You will NOT be allowed to work without safety masks and gloves ($3.00).

    OPTIONAL but VERY NEEDED: (these materials are needed to help remove the debris, the more we have, the more we can accomplish)
    -Heavy Duty Trash bags
    -Cleaning Supplies – bleach, white wine vinegar, anything for large messes
    -Contractor bags
    -Shovels
    -Gloves
    -Rakes
    -Crowbars
    -Garbage’s on wheels or wheelbarrows
