How do I log in?
If you are having trouble logging in for the first time, please call us
at 301.405.4095, and we will help you. If you already registered but
have lost your password, follow the links on the Login page to have it
resent to you.
What can other members in the community learn about me?
To see what other members of the community can see, go to "My Profile"
and click View Mode (not Edit Mode). What you see there on the My
Profile tab is what other members can see. You can add new content
blocks, photos, games, and other widgets.
How can I connect to other social networking sites?
You can pull
your Facebook Badge and your LinkedIn profile straight into your
SmithConnector profile. From your "My Profile" page, click on "Add
Content" anywhere on the page. You will find many options for adding
other social networking sites in the Widgets tab. There, you will also
find external RSS feeds that you can add to your SmithConnector profile.
Facebook Connect also provides the ability to make automatic updates to
your Facebook page while your in SmithConnector. The Facebook Connect
icon can be found on the login page.
How can I volunteer my time or expertise to help current Smith students or fellow alumni?
We're so glad you asked! There are TONS of opportunities for you to
volunteer to help current Smith students or fellow alumni. Please
complete the Stay Engaged form in SmithConnector, and we will be in
touch shortly! (The Stay Engaged form will be available once you log
in.)
Are there any events or activities where I live?
We have the page just for you! The left navigation link says "Connect in Your Region,"
and there you will find upcoming activities that we have planned in
different regions across the country. But you don't have to wait for
us... using the SmithConnector Find Alumni
directory, you can find other alumni in your area, send them a message,
and even create your own group so you can plan your own activities in
your areas. And if you need our help, please let us know. We have
support programs for Smith Leaders across the world!
I can create my own group? How?
First you will have to log in, and then, simply go to the Groups tab on
Your Profile and you will see a button for creating a new group.
What happened to the last alumni portal?
The Smith alumni portal (also known as the eAlumni portal) has retired
so that we could transition and launch SmithConnector (which we hope you
will find is a significant improvement!), but we did our best to
transfer all of your information, profile updates and preferences to
SmithConnector during our transition period. If you believe that some
information has been lost, please email us to let us know.
If I register with SmithConnector, will I start receiving spam?
No, we do not sell your information to any third-parties, and you can
set your own preferences for how and when we communicate with you
through SmithConnector. SmithConnector also allows us to send you
targeted messages based on your location, degree and preferences so we
hope you will find all of our communications useful. If you do not,
please just let us know.
